Born from Elif Gönensay’s lifelong devotion to design and her instinct for creating beauty, Ethnicloom is a natural continuation of her journey as a designer and “room maker,” a title affectionately given by her daughter. What began as a passion for transforming spaces with artisan kilims and pillows has evolved into a deeper mission — to honor and revive the ancient art of the loom. At Ethnicloom, every thread tells a story. We seek out the finest yarns, hand-selecting and dyeing them to perfection — a process guided as much by patience as by artistry. Our purpose is to reconnect this heritage craft with its origins, celebrating the unmatched skill of Anatolian women while sharing their artistry with a discerning global audience. Today, Ethnicloom extends beyond textiles, collaborating with architects and concept creators on site-specific, craft-driven hospitality projects.
