Mah-roc

Máh-roc was founded in 2016 by Roksan Sarfati to create awareness in upcycled fashion and sustainable clothing. For more than 2 years, leftover and unwanted garments were collected from all around the world. Then all these different fabrics were gathered at our atelier in Balat / Istanbul to born from their ashes for a second life.
We are mainly influenced by Baloch Tribe that are living in Afghan soil as nomads who travel all the time and have a very mysterious past. Our products resemble Baloch people’ life style, in a sense that they are individually unique and not possible to reproduce the same design, as the tribe’s journey across different lands. The word mah-roc means, the moon and the sun in Baloch language.
